Gary’s journey in property started in 1985. He has a vast wealth of experience after many years of running his own brokerage firm.
VDMV Property Group purchased their first five industrial buildings through Gary Luyt Property Brokers after an introduction in 2003. This marked the beginning of his relationship with the company. In 2015 Gary joined VDMV Property Group full-time.
Xander Rau
Xander Rau joined VDMV Property Group in 2018, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in project and development management

Xander obtained a BSc Construction Management degree from the University of Pretoria in 1992. His career to date includes project and development management positions within residential, retail, industrial and commercial fields in South Africa, Namibia and the United Kingdom. His previous position was as regional development manager for the coastal region at Redefine Properties Ltd.
Tyrone Kleinjan
Tyrone spearheads the council regulatory processes pertaining to construction and council applications for new developments.

Tyrone qualified in both Construction Management and Quantity Surveying and spent several years at NMC and Granbuild. Thereafter, he ran his own construction company for 11 years before joining VDMV Property Group. Tyrone spearheads the council regulatory processes pertaining to construction, and council applications for new developments. He also acts as the interface on all levels on the new projects development side of VDMV Property Group.
Neil van Rensburg
Neil van Rensburg is a non-executive director at VDMV Property Group and is a qualified actuary and part of the Sanlam Life Executive Committee.

Neil spent several years in the UK as Head of the Actuarial Department of Sanlam UK. He also served as Chairman of the Sanlam Property Committee for 5 years from 2015 until 2020.
He became an investor in the VDMV Private Equity fund in 2005 after an introduction to Izak van der Merwe. He also built an automated model for the calculation and distribution of interest to the fund investors. In 2011, Neil became a non-executive director of the VDMV Private Equity fund, and in 2015 he became a non-executive director of VDMV Property Holdings.
Having specialised in investments and economics, Neil utilises his actuarial skills to monitor the financial operations from a non-executive perspective.
Paul Stevens
Paul Stevens joined VDMV Property Holdings in 2022, adding his substantial experience with both project and development management to VDMV’s extensive range of competencies in property development.

As a fully qualified professional quantity surveyor, Paul has always been intrigued with property development. After six years as a professional quantity surveyor, he moved to a Cape Town-based property development company, mainly focusing on upmarket residential developments along the Platinum Mile of the Atlantic Seaboard. Thereafter he took the position of development / project manager at JT Ross Property Group, where he facilitated numerous warehouse and office developments along the R21 in the highly successful Plumbago Business Park in Johannesburg.

Cherise van Rensburg
Cherise van Rensburg joined the VDMV Property Group in May 2021 as an in-house legal advisor responsible for handling all the legal requirements pertaining to the ever-expanding development portfolio of VDMV Property Group.

She obtained her LLB degree from the North-West University and was admitted as an attorney in 2009, specialising in general and commercial litigation and commercial law for more than a decade.
She developed a passion for property law and practised as a conveyancer before leaving private practice to pursue a career as a corporate legal advisor specialising in property law.
Sanette Le Roux
Sanette is a skilled and experienced attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the property development sector. She joined the VDMV Property Group in September 2022 as an in-house legal advisor.

Nadia van der Merwe
Nadia is an energetic business developer and leader, with 15+ years of consulting and management experience. She’s a qualified CA(SA) and CISA and has a people-positive focus on structure, process and technology.

She currently fulfills the role of strategic advisor the VDMV Group’s management team.
Nadia is also a trustee of the Rita van der Merwe Familie Trust which holds the majority shareholding portfolio in the VDMV Property Group.

Ferdie van der Merwe
Ferdie van der Merwe joined VDMV Property Holdings in 2017, bringing with him his comprehensive experience in financial management in the corporate environment.

Ferdie previously held top financial positions, including that of group company secretary and group CFO for Crossroads Distribution, and group financial manager at Trencor Transport.
As a fully qualified chartered accountant (SA), his experience includes strategy, forecasting, analytics, mergers and acquisitions, working capital management, risk management, corporate governance, business structure improvement, supply chain management, auditing and financial forensics.
Ferdie serves as trustee for Rita van der Merwe Familie Trust and the IJ van der Merwe Familie Trust. He is also a director of VDMV Private Equity Fund Proprietary Limited.
Marius van Rensburg
Marius van Rensburg, known for his skill at solving problems and his tenacity to see projects through, joined VDMV Property Holdings in 2018, after a remarkable career spanning four decades at Eskom.

Holding qualifications from the University of Stellenbosch (BSC Eng), the University of Pretoria (MSC Eng) and the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marius specialises in energy.
At VDMV he is tasked with managing the energy needs of the company and its property developments. His specific focus is solar energy as the most promising alternative to conventional electricity supply.
